Normally we are on point with bringing the fans their first look at the upcoming covers of Boom Studio‘s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, however we have been behind due to a confusing direction Boom is taking.
The first 8 issues of the ongoing series (#8 not yet released) they have stuck to the same theme of releasing “Zord” variants as their 1:25 Variant. Mark (our resident Power Ranger Fan/collector) was one of the many that were just collecting those covers.
Now, with the announcement of #9 last month, and #10 this month, it seems Boom has left their “Zord” variants behind. But why we ask? The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic revolves around the first 3 season of Power Rangers. In that time they had the Dino Zords, Thunder Zords, Ninja Zords, Shogun Zords, etc, When do they get their variants? The White Ranger got his and he was part of the Thunder Zords. The Thunder zords are even part of the bad guy in the Pink mini series. Also, since #8 will feature the complete Megazord, what about the other combinations? or even Titanus?
So it leaves us asking, Where are the Zord Variants? Will they return?
For now, lets take a look at the upcoming covers, and have you decide.
